My Story

A Little About Me...

I’ve lived many lives before landing in journalism. I was born in the Panhandle, moved all around Texas, and eventually settled in the Rio Grande Valley, where I’ve spent the past eight years. Along the way, I spent over a decade in Austin’s entertainment industry, learning how live events and movie culture really function behind the scenes.

Before I wrote professionally, I worked at Stubb’s BBQ doing just about everything — selling merch, working security, even serving in the restaurant. Those experiences taught me how chaotic, collaborative, and human entertainment spaces can be, and, honestly, how much fun they are. I later moved on to the Alamo Drafthouse, where I became a shift-leader and traveling trainer, helping open new venues and support programming teams across the country.

Those years shaped the way I see and tell stories. I’m drawn to work that treats entertainment seriously without taking itself too seriously. When I’m not writing, I’m usually watching movies, revisiting old favorites, or thinking about what’s worth exploring next.
